Our Current Portfolio

Our wine portfolio represents grape growing around the Commonwealth. As a négociant-style winery, we lease land from area growers and bring in whole cluster grapes as well as using our own vineyard crops and create each wine here on site for a true expression of Virginia wine.

2011Chardonnay

2011 Fletcher’s Chardonnay      $29

This non-malolactic Chardonnay was barrel fermented and aged on its lees for nine months in French oak. The 2011 vintage is leaner and more focused than previous vintages. Ripe pear and yellow peach flavors lead into stone fruits and melon that are all brightened by the green apple acidity. Minerality lingers with the finish.

2011 Cab Sauv

2012 Cabernet Sauvignon          $38

Technical Sheet

This was the first real harvest from La Grange’s Benoni’s Vineyard since it was planted in 2007. As the backbone of this cuvee you can taste the contribution that our vineyard’s terroir adds.

Red currants, caramel and violets instantly grab the attention of your olfactory sense. The aromas
translate to the taste and are joined by candied cranberry, wild red fruits, bright red delicious apple,
pomegranate, graphite and a fleeting appearance of nutmeg. Wow . . . lots going on with this wine and
the icing is that the acid and velvety tannins are well balanced with this Cab Sauv’s flavors. Pleasantly
pleasing finish.
2011Meritage label

2012 Meritage                           $38

An American blend of Bordeaux varietals that titillate the palate from front to back with a mouthful of wine. Its time in oak rounded off the tannins and refined the acidity that carries the elegant fruit flavors of cherry, red delicious apple, baking spices and tobacco leaf to a moderately lingering finish.
general's battlefield red

4th Bottling General’s Battlefield Red  $43

NV Snort

NV Snort                            $38

The Solera system of blending multiple vintages produces layers of flavor, texture and depth. This port style wine is rich yet soft with hints of smoke, wood and dark fruit. Great with dark chocolate, red fruit and nuts.  (550mL)
NV Reserve Brut

NV Reserve Brut Sparkling Wine - Wine Club Member Gift

We produce our sparkling wine in the Champenoise method, which means we let this 100% Chardonnay go through it’s first fermentation in bottle, creating a lovely variation of light lemon notes, tart kiwi and white flower aromas and flavors. After years of methodical riddling, the wine is disgorged and the final touches are added in the bottle before a final corkage.
