Dear Wine Lovers,

What's Happening at the Winery
by Melissa Stephen

Melissa, Event ManagerOk, let's get right to it because there is a LOT to tell you about!

First, how happy are we all that Winter seems to have vacated to make way for Spring?  Yippee!!  Spring at the winery means fun for all and we are more than ready.  We've got Barrel Tastings, an Artisan Jewelry show, a Winemaker's Dinner, our first Bottling of 2007 wine, a Corvette car show and some new vintages to release all in the next few weeks. Wow!

Barrel Tastings start this weekend, March 15 and 16.  If you can't make it this weekend, mark your calendar for the weekends of April 5 and 6 and April 26 and 27.  Rob will be on hand each of these days to taste you through some of the 2007 wines that have been aging in barrel since Fall harvest.  This is such a fun (and delicious) event.  Rob will thief wine right out of the barrels and talk you through the processes that have gotten the wines this far and what it will take to perfect them before bottling.  It's also a great opportunity for you to purchase futures of the wines that you think show the most promise at a significant discount.  We'll have a nice spread of food to go with the tasting too.  Bring your friends, you're sure to have a great time.

Also, this weekend and the weekend of April 5 and 6, we'll have Lisa Balog at the winery selling her handmade jewelry.  Lisa works with sterling silver, Swarovski crystals and pearls, freshwater pearls and other lovely gems.  She creates lovely one-of-a-kind pieces and will display and sell her work right here, just in time for Mother's Day guys!

Our next winemaker's dinner is March 29th.  The bad news is that it's sold out.  The good news is that the theme for this dinner has been such a hit that we'll definitely do it again.  It's a murder mystery dinner with everyone attending involved in helping solve the murder of the Winemaker. (Um, anybody seen Rob??)  We'll have 8 suspects on hand to share their version of events from a party the night before - that's when the murder took place.  Fun, mystery, intrigue - I can't wait!

Ok Cuvee Blanc lovers, the waiting is almost over!!  The 2007 Cuvee Blanc is being bottled in April.  It will again be an off-dry, perfectly refreshing, back in the pretty blue bottle, particularly delicious wine.  Summer is Saved!!!

Corvette maniacs - come see us Saturday April 19 to drool over an impressive display of your favorite car.  Old ones, new ones, flashy ones, sleek ones, they'll all be here with their lucky owners to show them off and tell you all about them.

Are you one of the many fans of our 2005 Norton?  What about the rich and full-bodied 2005 Merlot?  Well, better hurry because they're both almost gone.  We've got 2006 vintages ready to replace both so no need to panic but, if you love those 2005 vintages wines, come quick!

So, as you can see, we have lots planned at the winery this Spring with lots more to come.  Tune in next month for more fun events to come! In the meantime, we'll see you at the winery.
