What's Happening at the Winery by Melissa Stephan |
|
Summer has settled in and there has been no shortage of thirsty folks visiting La Grange. In fact, your thirst for our famous Sangria has become so intense that we've had to take drastic action. On weekends only, we have now opened a Sangria Bar out on the patio - it's all Sangria all the time. See how we take care of you? And, to make it even better, we are offering not only our Famous Red Sangria but we have come up with a recipe for Soon-to-be-Famous Peachy White Sangria. Wait, there's more! You can not only get these by the icy, full pitcher but you can now also get your fix by the glass. We've got the recipes all printed up for you too so you can make this yummy stuff wherever you are.
For those of you who prefer your refreshment without fruit floating on top, we have an incredible bottle special that's available until the end of July. One bottle of Pinot Grigio, one bottle of Rose of Merlot and one bottle of Cuvee Blanc can all be yours for only $40. Get it cold, get it opened to enjoy right here, get it packed up to take on vacation but get it - it can't be beat!
I know, you're all waiting for the news about our last ghost-hunter investigation. You're just going to have to be patient a little longer -I'm sorry! - we haven't gotten all of the data yet but I can tell you that there was something about footsteps with no body attached, strange noises coming out of speakers and the sound of furniture moving across the floor but nothing actually moved. Eeekk!
We've got some good stuff coming up that you'll want to get on your calendar. Next Saturday, July 26 from 4-6 pm, Tina White of Oceania Cruises will be giving a PowerPoint presentation about the wine cruise planned for next June. What? You have no idea what I'm talking about?? Oh, well, you can't miss this! June 17 - June 27, 2009 Chris Pearmund is hosting a cruise that will take us from Rome to Barcelona with a total off 11 ports of call across 4 countries - Italy, Monaco, France and Spain. There will be once-in-a-lifetime excursions to wineries and vineyards and exciting onboard wine-focused events. This is going to be fun, exciting, enriching and will never, ever be forgotten! Come to the presentation and hear all about it or logon to www.luxurycruisecounselors.com for a complete itinerary and pricing information.
Also, don't forget about the Gary Vaynerchuk events planned for August 23rd. If you love wine and fun, Gary is your guy! There are two separate events that you'll want to check out. His podcast will be filmed from 2-4pm. There he will taste and critique wines from La Grange, Pearmund Cellars and Rappahannock Cellars - hold on to your hats because Gary tells it like it is! Then, a winemaker's style dinner will begin at 6:30 featuring La Grange and Pearmund Cellars wines and the food of our favorite caterer, A La Carte. Chris Pearmund, Rob Cox and Gary will lead you through this unique and fun evening. Call for reservations, only a few spots left!
One last little bit of good news, it's been confirmed that all of you Cuvee Blanc lovers out there, and there are A LOT of you, are right - our Cuvee Blanc is the best off-dry white wine out there. The judges of the Indy International Wine Competition determined that our Cuvee Blanc was the best wine in its class and awarded it the Concordance Gold - that's huge!! We knew it was good but better than the rest? Yes!! Congratulations Rob, your Cuvee is tops! Also at that competition, our 2007 Pinot Gris, 2006 Tannat and 2006 Snort were all awarded Silver Medals. At the Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition, Tannat and Snort did it again - both winning Silver.
Come on out and celebrate summer, fun and award winning wine, with us!
