Dear Wine Lovers,

What's Happening at the Winery
by Melissa Stephan

Melissa, Event ManagerBrrrrrr!! It's been such a cold winter so far!  Thankfully, we're having way too much fun to let a little sub-freezing weather slow us down.  After we all recovered from ringing in the New Year, we got busy.  First there was the release of the 2007 Cabernet Franc, good stuff!  Then it was planning something fun to celebrate the inauguration of our 44th president - how about 44 cent tastings all day?  Perfect!!  After that we started thinking about Valentines Day, duh - chocolate!  And now it's time to think about Spring which means movie nights, barrel tastings, bottling and so much more.

Then there are the Friday night chili parties.  What?  You haven't heard?  Well, we know that you want a break after a long week of work and kids and chores and traffic so we came up with an evening designed to help ease you into the weekend. It's an adult only evening of chili and wine.  It's simple, it's fun, it's civilized and it's the perfect way to let go of the stress from the week. Check out our "happenings" page for upcoming dates.

You don't want to miss a visit to the winery this weekend.  Everybody has love on the brain and we're no different.  What do we love almost as much as wine? Chocolate!!  All day this Saturday and Sunday (Feb 14-15th) we'll include an array of chocolates for you to enjoy with your wine tasting.  There will be some that taste just right with white wine, some that are perfect with red wine and, of course, the most delicious of all will be amazing with our Snort.

If you're planning to visit both La Grange and Pearmund Cellars this weekend, we've got and extra special treat for you.  With your paid tasting at the first winery you visit, you'll be offered a Valentine with a missing half.  Bring that half to the other winery, purchase a tasting there and you'll get a box of artisan candy from our favorite chocolatiers, Chocolaterie Wanders, while supplies last.  It's just our way of telling you how much we love you too!

Our Valentine's Day Winemaker's Dinner has sold out but our next dinner promises to be very special too.  It's on March 14th and it's all about Comfort Food.  Comfort Food with a Gourmet Twist that is.  Check out the menu on our "happenings" page, it'll make your mouth water.  It's already filling up so give us a call for a reservation sooner than later!

Hang in there! Spring will be here with all of her warmth and flowers before you know it.  In the meantime, remember that La Grange is always here for you with wine flowing and fireplaces blazing.
